JITO Belagavi Organizes Anti-Drug Abuse Awareness Rally in Association with Food Safety & Drug Administration (FDA), Belagavi,

Belagavi, June 25, 2026:
JITO Belagavi, in association with the Food Safety & Drug Administration (FDA), Belagavi, successfully organized a mega awareness rally on the occasion of the International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking on Thursday, June 25, 2026.

This globally observed day is dedicated to raising awareness about the harmful effects of drug abuse and promoting a drug-free society. In support of this international initiative, a large-scale awareness rally was organized in Belagavi city, witnessing the participation of more than 800 students and members of the public.

The rally commenced from Rani Channamma Circle, Belagavi, where JITO Belagavi Chairman Shri Harshavardhan Inchal welcomed the dignitaries and participants. The rally was formally flagged off by the Chief Guest, Shri Narayana Barmani, Deputy Commissioner of Police, Belagavi City, along with Dr. S. Nagaraj, Deputy Drug Controller, Belagavi, and other officials from the FDA.

The rally received tremendous support from the Belgaum District Retailers and Wholesale Pharma Association and various educational institutions, including KLE University, Rani Channamma College of Pharmacy, Maratha Mandal College of Pharmacy, Sagar College of Pharmacy, Dr. Ravi Patil College of Pharmacy, Bhamane College of Pharmacy, and many other organizations.

Throughout the rally, participants enthusiastically raised slogans promoting a drug-free society and spreading awareness about the adverse effects of substance abuse. The event was highly impactful and successfully conveyed its message to the public.

At the conclusion of the program, JITO Belagavi Chief Secretary Shri Abhay Adimani expressed his heartfelt gratitude to all dignitaries, participants, supporting organizations, volunteers, and students for their invaluable contribution in making the rally a grand success.

As part of this anti-drug awareness initiative, JITO Belagavi in association with FDA had also organized a series of awareness sessions during the second week of June across several colleges in Belagavi city. Numerous sessions were conducted, reaching and educating more than 4,300 students about the dangers of drug abuse and the importance of leading a healthy and responsible lifestyle. The primary objective of these programs was to ensure that the youth of our country are well-informed about the harmful effects of substance abuse and its impact on society. The sessions were led by expert speakers from the Food Safety & Drug Administration (FDA), Police Department, and distinguished professors from Dr. Ravi Patil Ayurvedic Medical College. These awareness programs received an overwhelming response and were highly appreciated by students, parents, teaching faculty, and college managements for their informative and impactful content.
