JITO Ladies Wing, Bangalore South, organized the League of Lady Legends Box Cricket Tournament on February 1st at GT Mall. The program commenced with the chanting of Navkar Mahamantra.
JLW South Chairperson Babita Raysoni welcomed the gathering and expressed her happiness about the event. She said that she was thrilled to see 8 teams and 64 talented players come together to showcase their skills and passion on the field! She emphasized that the tournament was not just about cricket, but a symbol of unity, strength, and teamwork. This is an opportunity for women to showcase their abilities on and off the field!
JITO Bangalore South Chairman Ranjeet Solanki and Ladies Wing Chief Secretary Nidhi Palrecha sent their best wishes to the teams and participants.
Convener Sakshi Nahar explained the rules and regulations of the tournament and motivated all teams to play with sportsmanship. Co-convenor Somana Sisodia hosted the event, while Khush Nahar provided commentary, making every moment of the game exciting.
The participating teams included Travergy Titans, captained by Angeikaa Bafna, Symbiosis Strikers, owned by Arpita Ladani; Ramdev Max Strikers, of Jayshree Bagrecha; Manoranjan Stars of Neelam Shand; Chokadi Rising Stars, owned by Sweta Lunia, Meenakshi Begwani, Manisha Begwani, and Utsha Chindaliya; Kultivated Karats owned by Supriya Sampath; Savvy Warriors, owned by Savita Porwal and Just Wrappers, owned by Nidhi Palrecha.
In the semi-finals, Rising Stars defeated Symbiosis Strikers, while Manoranjan Stars defeated Savvy Warriors. In the final, Manoranjan Stars defeated Rising Stars in a thrilling contest to lift the winners trophy. Both teams displayed exceptional skill and teamwork.
The individual award winners included Sarika Mehta, Player of the Tournament; Savita Porwal, Best Batswoman; Sonal Mutha, Best Bowler Woman of the matches included Asha Sancheti, who impressed everyone with her brilliant all-round performance, Neha, who captured the field with her energy; Sonal Mutha, who played match-winning shots; Savita Siyal, who changed the direction of the match with her brilliant batting; Poonam Bohra, who performed better under pressure; Sarika Mehta, who showed great cricket skills with strategy and confidence; Natasha, who changed the game with her powerful performance; and Deepika Bhansali, who gave a decisive performance in the match.
Prominent guests at the event included KKG Zone Convenor Pinky Jain, former Chairperson of Ladies Wing South, Shraman Aarogyam Convenor Sunita Gandhi, Chitra Mehta, Co-Convenor of Girls Hostel, past Chairperson of Ladies Wing North, and Business Household Model Convenor Bindu Raisoni and JITO Ladies Wing Convenor Praveen Sofadia
The success of the tournament was attributed to the collective efforts of JLW South members, including Vice Chairperson Neelam Shand, Treasurer Sangeeta Parakh, Joint Secretary Chandra Jain, Rashi Jain, Priya Gandhi, Hema Solanki, Arpita Ladhani, Angeikaa Bafna, Nisha Kothari, and Asmita Chauhan.
Special mention must be made of Sakshi Nahar and Somana Sisodia, whose hard work and leadership ensured the tournaments success. Taksh Nahar deserves credit for framing the rules and regulations for the tournament.
The tournament concluded on a high note, with the collective spirit, love, and loyalty towards the game growing stronger. As Raysoni aptly puts it, "Dreams are not what we see while sleeping; dreams are those that do not let us sleep." This tournament was a testament to the dreams, tenacious heroism, and teamwork displayed by these women, and we look forward to more such events in the future.
