JITO Youth Wing Bangalore South under vertical of JITO Center for Excellence organized a dynamic seven-day workshop, "Lights, Camera, Reels," at the JITO office, Chamarajpet, Bangalore. The workshop started from June 16th to June 22, 2025. Forty two enthusiastic participants were divided into eight teams and underwent hands-on training through a series of insightful segments and creative challenges. The workshop equipped them with the tools and techniques to craft engaging short-form content, providing a comprehensive understanding of trends, camera techniques, formats, and audience-centric storytelling.
The workshop started with the recitation of the Navkar Mantra and the ceremonial lighting of the lamp by JITO Youth Wing dignitaries and trainers, setting a positive tone for the six days. JITO Youth Wing Chairman Mehul Srisrimal welcomed participants to the event and stated that this workshop was specifically designed for youth who are the future of tomorrow. Chief Secretary Rishabh Chopra extended a warm welcome to the attendees and set an inviting tone for the event with his opening remarks. Ridhi Mehta Convener and Harsha Jain Co-convener, introduced the trainers.
The trainers of the workshop were Vikram Bhansali, Nidhi Srisrimal and Gaurav Gulecha, who guided participants through various aspects of reel-making. Participants explored the foundation of Reels, learning about different types and discovering their content niche. They created short self-intro Reels, setting the stage for the rest of the workshop.
The workshop's five-day journey was packed with creative learning experiences. Participants focused on sound, shooting, and presence, mastering basic phone videography and gaining camera confidence. They practiced movement, transitions, and story-driven shots, culminating in the Trend Recreation Challenge. They took their creativity outdoors, applying aesthetic techniques like lighting and movement, and shot Reels across various genres in the Outdoor Reels Challenge.
Participants learned to craft value-driven content, product ads, and testimonials, practicing diverse formats, including podcast-style segments. They focused on making their Reels go viral through retention tactics and publishing strategies, creating final bootcamp journey Reels and contributing to a collaborative Reel in the Relay Challenge.
The program concluded with a graduation ceremony, where participants showcased their final projects and received certificates. Also marked their the presence were the youth wing managing committee members Roshni Jain, Riddhi Mandoth Reeth, Taksh Jain Shashank Khanted, Kanish Balar and Rajyash
The event was a resounding success, offering an insightful, hands-on, and immersive learning journey for all attendees. The overwhelming positive response has encouraged us to plan more advanced workshops. The "Lights, Camera, Reels" workshop was a testament to the power of creative learning and collaboration, providing valuable knowledge and practical experience to all participants.
