Drona Academy: Empowering Female Athletes
Sports are an essential part of every individual's life. Every sports person strives for fitness as a primary goal to perform at their best in any sporting event. Today, the youth, who are the future of India, are actively participating in all forms of sports. JITO Sports provides a platform for talented sports persons from the community and offers an opportunity to be part of the JITO Sports National Games.
JITO Youth Bangalore South initiated Drona Academy, designed to foster fitness training and athletic development among females of all levels - beginners, intermediate, and advanced - with the goal of helping them level up their game and unlock their true potential. The 2-week program consisted of 6 days of intense training and 1 rest and recovery day, with the first week focused on sharpening and developing new skills, and the second week dedicated to a high-intensity tournament. The purpose of Drona Academy was to enhance athleticism in female members of the community at large through various skills and advanced drills.
The Drona Academy, a 2-week program, was successfully organized by JITO Youth Bangalore South in collaboration with Turning Point Curators, powered by Klutch Arena, and lifestyle-sponsored by Nikki The Luxury Designs. The event aimed to enhance the athleticism of females from the community, providing a platform for them to level up their game and unlock their true potential. The program commenced on May 12, 2025, with a rigorous training regime comprising weight training, endurance training, and agility drills. The participants were divided into teams to foster a competitive spirit, and relays were conducted at the end of every training session. The event culminated in a tournament week, where teams competed in multiple sports, showcasing the skills they had learned.
The winning team, Sky Warriors, emerged victorious, while Anita and Pari were declared MVPs of the morning and evening batches, respectively. Drona Academy was a resounding success, providing a platform for the youth to enhance their performance, compete, bond, and strengthen connections.
